Collins
& Schoettler has served public agencies in the
southern San Joaquin Valley since 1982. The principal of the firm
is Greg Collins. Mr. Collins has over 23 years of planning experience.
Sixteen of these years, Mr.Collins served on the Visalia City
Council where he gained valuable experience in the field of municipal
affairs, including redevelopment, municipal finance, infrastructure
planning and urban design.
The strength of Collins and Schoettler
lies in three areas.
Preparation of planning documents - All cities and counties
require planning documents that provide for the long-term physical
development of each jurisdiction. These planning documents include
general plans, specific plans, environmental impact reports and
zoning ordinances. When preparing these documents, the objective
of Collins & Schoettler is to fashion a document that is "user
friendly" - concise and clear language; numerous illustrations,
maps, and flow diagrams, and readable format.
Contract planning services - For small cities who cannot
afford a full-time planner and for larger cities and counties
who require "one-time" planning assistance, Collins & Schoettler
provides in-house professional planning services. This service
is all inclusive in that it includes processing of planning permits,
presentations before the Planning Commission and City Council
or Board of Supervisors, preparation of resolutions and ordinances,
and other administrative duties associated with a planning department.
Valley experience - Collins & Schoettler has an extensive
understanding of Valley affairs. In addition to planning, Collins
& Schoettler is knowledgeable in municipal, environmental, and
land use matters.
