


Mr.
Schoettler joined Collins and Schoettler in 1991. He came to the
firm after working as a planner for the City of Atascadero, in
the central California coast region.
At Collins and Schoettler he has prepared numerous planning
documents, including environmental impact reports, initial studies/
Negative Declarations, Environmental Assessments, general, community
and specific plans and zoning ordinances. He has also performed
daily planning functions for a number of Central Valley cities.
While working for the City of Atascadero, Mr. Schoettler was
responsible for project reviews, environmental analysis and public
contact. He reviewed many development projects, including a number
proposed in sensitive hillside locations.
Currently, Mr. Schoettler is preparing a specific plan for the
City of Reedley. This plan will implement many "Smart Growth"
principles in an area of the community that is expected to witness
significant growth in the next several years. Mr. Schoettler facilitated
numerous community meetings in the preparation of the specific
plan.
Mr. Schoettler has recently devised an innovative system of zoning
brochures which are being prepared for local communities. These
brochures convert planning and zoning topics into an easily -
understood format that members of the public can take home. This
system was given a special award by the Central California Chapter
of the American Planning Association in 1995.

B.A. Geography (Environmental studies emphasis) California State
University, Fresno. Core program completed in masters program
of city planning, City and Regional Planning Program, California
State University, Fresno.
